Are you an influencer? Do you want to collaborate with us?

How can I contact you?

Touring Cars International Sales Office is here to assist you. Contact us for support, questions, or booking inquiries.

For any request with immediate departure or if you require emergency roadside assistance during your journey, kindly contact directly the rental station.
All station contact details are available at: https://touringcars.com/en/contact-touring-cars.

Can I travel outside of my destination country?

Yes, you can. If you are planning to visit several countries with the rental vehicle, please contact our International Sales Office via info@touringcars.com in advance to verify the requirements for possible insurance documents.

  • Travelling within the Nordic countries (Finland, Norway, and Sweden) does not require any special attention concerning approval when a rental vehicle has been collected from one of these countries. However, when collecting your rental vehicle from pickup station, kindly notify the station staff about your plans to visit other countries.

What does the green card stand for?

The green card is not in itself an insurance cover. It is a document recognized in all the participating countries as a proof that your vehicle has been insured to the necessary minimum, to meet the legal requirements of those countries. This requirement is often simply third-party insurance, covering you against a claim for damage you cause to another vehicle.

Do I need to have a green card (certificate for motorhome insurance) if I travel outside of my destination country?

Our rental station will take care of the green card after you inform our International Sales Office via info@touringcars.com that you plan to cross borders.

What type of driver’s license do I need?

All our vehicles can be driven with licenses comparable to standard European Class B license (Up to 3500kg). Kindly, double check with your local transit authorities the validity of your license in the destination country if your license is issued outside the EU. You may be required to attain an international driving permit.

The license needs to be in Latin alphabet for us to be able to read it.

Digital driver’s licenses are not accepted at our rental stations, except for Norwegian digital driver’s licenses when traveling within Norway and Icelandic digital driver’s licenses while driving in Iceland. For all other cases, a physical driver’s license must be presented at the time of vehicle collection.

What are Everyman's Rights?

Everyman’s Rights are a legal concept in Finland and other Nordic countries that grants the general public the freedom to access and enjoy nature without permission from the landowner.

It allows activities in nature such as walking, skiing, cycling, swimming, fishing (with hook-and-line or ice fishing), camping, foraging for berries and mushrooms, and driving a boat, provided they do so responsibly and without disturbing the environment, wildlife, privacy of others, or protected areas. While having this freedom, it is important to be mindful of nature, other people, and private properties.

You can read more about Everyman’s Rights from here.

Is there a fire/smoke detector in the motorhome?

Yes, there is a fire/smoke detector in each of our motorhomes for your safety.

Here you can read about each of our motorhome categories and what is included as standard items.

How large is the diesel tank and how much is the average fuel consumption?

The diesel tank capacity in our motorhomes is 80-90 liters.

The average consumption is 10-12 liters / 100km.

How long will a gas bottle last in the motorhome?

Your motorhome is equipped with two full gas bottles when you start your holiday. Both bottles should be returned full when you return your motorhome unless you have purchased the refill in advance. Many of the appliances in the motorhome use gas to function, including refrigerator, stove top, and heating system. The average consumption is one bottle per week without the use of heating, but during the chilly winter months you should be prepared to change the bottle more frequently. For a hassle-free return, without a need to change the bottle, we recommend you book a gas bottle refill in advance. This can be done in our booking engine or on spot.

Is there heating in the motorhome? Does it work in low temperatures?

Yes, all Touring Cars’ motorhomes have a built-in heating system that works in all conditions all year round. It can be used with gas or electricity when plugged into an electricity source.

Kindly note, if the temperature drops below +4°C, the heating must always stay on if there is any water in the water system. In very cold weather below -15°C, gas will be the main heat source, so be prepared for higher gas consumption compared to summer. Gas bottles can be replaced at petrol stations.

Our team will provide a thorough walkthrough of the motorhome and all its features during the pickup process.

Which roads am I allowed to drive with a motorhome in Iceland?

Kindly note that not all roads in Iceland are accessible with all motorhomes. There are rough, narrow gravel roads that are not regularly maintained, and you will need a 4×4 vehicle to drive them.

Gravel roads are forbidden for motorhomes as well as Highland (F) Roads – that are marked with an «F» on public maps. This also applies to Kjölur (road 35) and Kaldidalur (road 550).

The TC VAN (4×4) is our only category that can be driven on the following F-roads: Route No. 35 (Kjölur), No. 550 (Kaldidalur), and No. 208 coming from the north towards Landmannalaugar, but only up to the river before the campsite. More information about TC VAN (4×4) can be found from this link.

You will see the limitations regarding the roads in Iceland on your rental agreement, and this will also be explained thoroughly during the pick-up process. You will also get a tablet to take with you on your holiday, and you can use an app, which will help you in finding the accessible roads.

Here you can find a useful website with a road map.

How does the insurance work?

Our insurance has two parts: compulsory insurance and collision insurance.

  • Compulsory insurance covers damage or injury to others caused by the driver.
  • Collision insurance covers damage to the rental vehicle from accidents, fire, or theft. It doesn’t cover interior damage not caused by a traffic accident.

Important: Insurance is not valid if the vehicle is used under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or if damage is caused by reckless driving.

All Touring Cars rentals include collision insurance with a TC Basic deductible. If there’s an accident, damage, lost item, or fine, you must pay up to the maximum deductible per incident. Insurance covers the rest beyond that amount.

TC Basic deductible amounts vary by location:

  • UK (Chester): 1,500 GBP
  • Finland (Helsinki, Rovaniemi), Iceland (Keflavik), Estonia (Tallinn): 2,800 EUR
  • Sweden (Stockholm): 28,000 SEK
  • Norway (Oslo, Tromsø): 30,000 NOK

You can lower your deductible by upgrading from TC Basic to TC Plus or TC Premium.

TC Plus reduces the deductible to:

  • UK (Chester): 1,000 GBP
  • Finland (Helsinki, Rovaniemi), Iceland (Keflavik), Estonia (Tallinn): 1,200 EUR
  • Sweden (Stockholm): 12,000 SEK
  • Norway (Oslo, Tromsø): 15,000 NOK

TC Premium reduces it even more to:

  • UK (Chester): 500 GBP
  • Finland (Helsinki, Rovaniemi), Iceland (Keflavik), Estonia (Tallinn): 600 EUR
  • Sweden (Stockholm): 6,000 SEK
  • Norway (Oslo, Tromsø): 8,000 NOK

Optional Windshield & Tire Protection

Gravel roads are common in the Nordics, and flying stones can damage your windshield or tires. Without this optional cover, you’re responsible for repair costs. This protection covers one windshield or tire damage. Additional damage is charged at regular rates.

Here you can find more detailed information about the insurances.

My mobile plan doesn’t include roaming in Europe — how can I stay connected to the internet during my motorhome trip?

If your mobile plan doesn’t include roaming in Europe, we recommend using an eSIM for convenient, affordable mobile data during your journey.

What is an eSIM?
An eSIM is a digital SIM card that works instantly on most modern smartphones (iPhone XR and newer, many Android models). No physical SIM card is needed.

Why use an eSIM?

– Stay connected from the moment you land

– Affordable data plans: just pay for what you need

– Works in most European countries

– No need to hunt for a local SIM card

We’ve partnered with Ubigi as a trusted eSIM provider.

Click THIS LINK to browse plans and activate your eSIM in just a few minutes or scan the QR code below.

Can I choose a specific layout for the motorhome?

When it comes to layout of the vehicle, we cannot guarantee any specific layout or a specific model for any rental, as there might be changes in the fleet. The motorhomes are on the road all the time, and sometimes they come back damaged from the previous rental, which prevents them from being rented again soon. In this case, we would need to provide you with another vehicle in the same category, but possibly with a different layout.

If you have a preference, we are always happy to take requests, and our team will do their best to assign the desired motorhome to your rental if it is available for your travel dates. You can leave us a note when you are making the booking, or you can send our International Sales Office an email after you have made the reservation.

What long rental discounts are issued at Touring Cars?

Long rentals, starting from longer than 14 days, have discounted daily rates according to the following intervals:

  • 15 – 29 rental days: 2% discount
  • 30 – 44 rental days: 7% discount
  • 45+ rental days: 15% discount

Can I leave empty suitcases at the rental station?

Most of our motorhomes have plenty of room for luggage. However, we recommend using soft suitcases instead of hard ones because they fit inside the luggage compartment better. In many of our rental locations we offer the possibility to leave your empty suitcases at the rental station until your return. This needs to be confirmed with our International Sales Office in advance.

How many passengers are allowed to travel in the motorhome?

What is the minimum rental length at Touring Cars?

Our minimum rental length is 1 day. One-day rental means that the pick-up and return will be held on the same day. If you travel more than one day, we charge for each calendar day. So, if you pick up a campervan on Monday afternoon and drop it off on Tuesday morning, we charge two rental days.

Are the motorhomes wheelchair accessible?

Our motorhomes are not currently equipped for wheelchair accessibility. We recommend that customers with specific accessibility requirements contact our International Sales Office before booking, so we can assist in finding the most suitable solution for your needs. We are committed to helping every traveler find the best possible experience.

What are the dimensions for each motorhome category?

Motorhome dimensions can vary depending on the specific model you are assigned. While we strive to provide accurate information, we cannot guarantee exact dimensions, as our fleet is subject to updates and changes. This means layouts, sizes, and specifications may differ slightly between vehicle categories. If you have specific space or size requirements, feel free to contact us – we will do our best to match you with a suitable option, though we appreciate your understanding that exact dimensions cannot be guaranteed.

The approximate dimensions for each motorhome category can be found from our website here.

Please note: You will not need the exact dimensions for your rental motorhome to be able to book a ferry or campsite. Most providers are familiar with rental vehicles and can assist you based on general size categories. We recommend contacting them directly to let them know you will be traveling in a rental vehicle.

Save time and experience more when renting a motorhome one-way!

With one-way rentals, you have the possibility to return the motorhome to a different location than where pickup took place. Kindly note, that all one-way rentals include the refill of two full gas bottles, and you do not need to add this extra item to your booking.

Although, keep in mind that one-way rentals are subject to an additional fee starting from 900 EUR. The one-way fee depends on pickup and drop off location. To check one-way availability and one-way fee, please, proceed to our booking engine. The total price that you will see in the booking engine already includes the one-way fee.

Before you make a purchase, please take a moment to review our online purchasing terms and conditions. These outline the key details regarding payments, cancellations, refunds, and your responsibilities as a customer. By completing a booking or transaction through our website, you agree to these terms.

What does "out of office hours surcharge" stand for?

Touring Cars customers can collect and return the motorhome without additional fees between 08:00 AM – 18:00 PM. Additional fee does not apply when the customer service process starts the earliest at 08:00 AM or the latest at 18:00 PM. However, if a flight is scheduled to be landing 17:30 PM (we always give 45 minutes for customers to collect the luggage) then the meeting is scheduled to happen at 18:15 PM and the additional charge will be applied.

Can I pay my rental in parts?

If your planned departure date is in more than 45 days, you can make a down payment of 200 EUR/ 2000 KR/ 210 GBP to confirm your booking. Full payment of the booking must be completed no later than 45 days prior to departure.

If your planned departure date is closer than 45 days, the full payment of the booking must be completed during the booking process at once.

How is the motorhome powered?

All our motorhomes have two separate 12V batteries:

  • One that powers the engine
  • The other powers the living area

Both batteries charge while you are driving. Most of the devices inside the living area run on the living area battery or gas, so you don’t need to worry — the engine battery will stay charged, and you will be able to start the motorhome the next morning.

If you want to use high-power devices of 230V (like a hair dryer or coffee machine), the motorhome needs to be plugged into an external power source. We provide the cable and adapter for this with every rental.

For smaller electronics (like laptops or camera chargers), you can rent a power inverter that works with devices up to 150W.

All motorhomes also have USB sockets, so you can easily charge your phone and other small devices.

Useful Tips for an Off-season Motorhome Travel

About the privacy policy at Touring Cars

At Touring Cars, your privacy and trust are important to us. Whether you’re booking your next motorhome adventure or simply exploring our services, we want you to feel confident in how we handle your personal information.

Here you can read about what data we collect, why we need it, and how we keep it safe throughout your rental journey.

Can I get the registration plate number of the motorhome in advance?

When it comes to registration plate number of the vehicle, we cannot guarantee this in advance, as there might be changes in the fleet. The motorhomes are on the road all the time, and sometimes they come back damaged from the previous rental, which prevents them from being rented again soon. In this case, we would need to provide you with another vehicle in the same category. The registration plate number cannot be guaranteed before the rental vehicle pickup day.

Kindly note that the camping sites and ferries can be booked without the registration plate number of a rental vehicle. You can also contact the service providers directly to confirm this.

What is the overall process of a motorhome rental?

Touring Cars website serves as a booking engine to reserve a motorhome and to check the live availability and the rates of the offered products. When the motorhome is successfully reserved, we will send you a booking confirmation with a request for flight/arrival details. These details allow a Touring Cars professional to be present at your arrival and warmly greet you at the airport or at an airport hotel. We will then provide you a shuttle transfer to the rental station where the pickup process can begin.

What should I know about Touring Cars’ rental terms before booking a motorhome?

Before starting your journey, please review our general rental terms. These outline important information about vehicle use, driver requirements, and responsibilities during the rental period. Understanding these terms ensures a smooth and safe rental experience.

Here you can read more about the general rental terms and conditions.

How does it work with the road tolls?

Our motorhomes rented from our Norwegian rental stations have AutoPASS included, and the road tolls will be charged from the customer at the return of the vehicle.

In Finland and Sweden our team will assist the customer on spot on how the road tolls are handled if they are travelling in Norway or Sweden.

There is nothing the customer needs to prepare in advance when it comes to the road tolls.

What to take into consideration when driving a motorhome?

Driving a motorhome is straightforward, but here are a few helpful tips to keep your journey safe and smooth:

  • Keep your speed in check: We recommend a maximum speed of 100 km/h. In strong winds, it is best to slow down a bit – motorhomes are more affected by wind than regular cars.
  • Drive economically: The most fuel-efficient speed is around 80 km/h. Fuel consumption is typically 8–9 l/100 km for campervans and 11–12 l/100 km for larger alcove models.
  • AdBlue included: All our modern vehicles use AdBlue, but there’s no need to worry about it on shorter trips – we’ve got it covered.
  • Before you hit the road: Double-check that all windows and roof hatches are closed, items are securely stored, and cupboard doors are latched.
  • Watch your turns: Motorhomes have a longer rear overhang, so give yourself extra space when turning corners.
  • Mind your height: Motorhomes are taller than regular vehicles, so avoid low-clearance areas like parking garages, drive-thrus, and some tunnels.
  • Drive rested and take breaks: Long drives can be tiring. Plan regular stops, especially when covering long distances.
  • Use campsites for services: Campsites are perfect for safely emptying waste tanks, filling up with fresh water, recharging batteries, and resting overnight.

With these tips in mind, you’re all set for a safe and enjoyable drive!

What is the amount of the security deposit?

When you arrive at the rental station, you will be asked to present a valid Visa or Mastercard credit card. A pre-authorisation will be placed on your card based on the deductible level of your chosen insurance package:

  • TC Basic: 1,500 GBP / 2,800 EUR / 28,000 SEK / 30,000 NOK
  • TC Plus: 1,000 GBP / 1,200 EUR / 12,000 SEK / 15,000 NOK
  • TC Premium: 500 GBP / 600 EUR / 6,000 SEK / 8,000 NOK

What happens during the vehicle inspection process?

When you return your campervan, we will do a quick 20-30 minute inspection to ensure everything is in tip-top shape for the next traveller. This is not a damage check per se – it is just part of our regular maintenance to keep the vehicle looking like new and in premium condition.

If any damage has occurred during your trip, we will need to take an extra 10 minutes to document and review it with you.

After the inspection, we will be happy to offer a complimentary transfer to the airport, nearby airport hotel or train station if needed.

Touring Cars provides many different models of vehicles for each category with varying details e.g. dimensions of the car or layout of the beds. Touring Cars reserves the right to change specifications and/or supply similar or higher-class vehicle for the advertised price without prior notification.

All our vehicles can be driven with licenses comparable to standard European Class B license (Up to 3500kg).

Does the motorhome include a kitchen?

Yes, all our motorhomes include a fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen includes a gas stove and everything you need for cooking and dining.

What is the amount of the security deposit?

When you arrive at the rental station, you will be asked to present a valid Visa or Mastercard credit card. A pre-authorisation will be placed on your card based on the deductible level of your chosen insurance package:

Many of the appliances in the motorhome use gas to function, including refrigerator, stove top, and heating system. The average consumption is one bottle per week without the use of heating, but during the chilly winter months you should be prepared to change the bottle more frequently. For a hassle-free return, without a need to change the bottle, we recommend you book a gas bottle refill in advance. This can be done in our booking engine or on spot.

When planning your trip with us, it is important to know how many passengers can safely and legally travel in each type of motorhome.

Below is a general guide to how many passengers are allowed to travel in each of our motorhome categories:

Category Maximum number of passengers
VAN 2
SMALL 2
MEDIUM 4
FAMILY 5
LARGE 5
LUXURY 4
LUXURY SMALL 2

What does "out of office hours surcharge" stand for?

Touring Cars customers can collect and return the motorhome without additional fees between 08:00 AM – 18:00 PM. Additional fee does not apply when the customer service process starts the earliest at 08:00 AM or the latest at 18:00 PM. However, if a flight is scheduled to be landing 17:30 PM (we always give 45 minutes for customers to collect the luggage) then the meeting is scheduled to happen at 18:15 PM and the additional charge will be applied.

This amount is held as a security deposit to cover potential costs such as traffic fine, fuel shortages, rental extensions or any damages to the vehicle.

At the end of your rental, once the vehicle has been inspected and confirmed to be in the same condition (inside and out), the pre-authorised amount will be fully released or cancelled. The funds will typically become available in your account again within a few business days, depending on your bank.

Can I travel with my pet?

We welcome all pets to all our rental vehicles! Kindly keep in mind that the pet cleaning service should be booked in advance if you would like to bring your pet with you. Pet cleaning fee includes a thorough cleaning and ionizing treatment for the motorhome after the rental.

Kindly note that our final cleaning service does not include pet cleaning.

Travelers from visa-exempt countries will need electronic travel authorizations to enter both the Schengen Area and the UK:

  • ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System): Required for entry into Schengen Area countries.
  • ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization): Required for entry into the United Kingdom.

If you are traveling to Europe or the UK, please check whether you need an ETIAS or ETA before your departure to avoid any travel disruptions. For more information, visit

Park4Night  and camping.info are some of the best apps for finding places to stay and service points in different countries.

If you are traveling in Finland, you should check out leirintaopas.fi – you can find almost all Finnish campsites and services there.

Remember to familiarize yourself with the regional rules and practices – they can vary greatly depending on the country and region.

What is expected from the customer before returning the motorhome?

Prior to returning the vehicle, if the customer has not purchased the Final cleaning service, we expect the customer to:

  • Ensure that the overall cleanliness is good
  • Empty trash cans
  • Empty and wipe the fridge
  • Clean the stove top and table surfaces
  • Empty and rinse the toilet cassette
  • Empty the grey water tank
  • Leave the fresh water tank 1/3 full
  • Shake all carpets outside of the vehicle
  • Separate all rented pillows, duvets, linen, and towels in different stacks on a bed

If this has not been done by the customer, a final cleaning surcharge will be charged at the time of return. The amount varies between rental locations.

Please DO NOT wash the exterior of the vehicle.

Am I allowed to smoke in the motorhome?

All kinds of smoking and vaping is strictly forbidden in all Touring Cars’ motorhomes.

Is there a shower in the motorhome? Does it have warm water?

Yes. All Touring Cars’ motorhomes come with a shower and instant warm water for your comfort. The shower’s location may vary depending on the vehicle model and layout.

Do the motorhomes include solar panels?

No, Touring Cars’ motorhomes do not include solar panels.

How much space does the motorhome have for luggage?

Motorhome storage may vary depending on the model, layout, and design. Each vehicle may offer different dimensions and storage configurations, so it is important to pack accordingly. While there is usually plenty of room for essential travel items, we recommend limiting the amount of luggage you bring. Soft bags are easier to store than hard suitcases, and keeping things compact helps ensure a safer, more comfortable journey.

Here are the approximate storage space dimensions for each motorhome category:

  • VAN, SMALL & SMALL LUXURY: 0.8 x 0.4 m
  • MEDIUM & LUXURY: 0.9 * 0.25 m / 0.75 * 0.29 m
  • FAMILY: 0.86 – 0.94m x 1.11 – 2.1m
  • LARGE: 0.66 x 1.11m / 1.15 x 0.8m / 1 x 0.8m

More information about our motorhome categories can be found here.

Touring Cars provides many different models of vehicles for each category with varying details e.g. dimensions of the car or layout of the beds. Touring Cars reserves the right to change specifications and/or supply similar or higher-class vehicle for the advertised price without prior notification. We cannot guarantee a specific car build or feature, but we are happy to take requests.

Is it possible to register an additional driver to the rental agreement?

In addition to the main driver, one additional driver is automatically included to your booking free of charge, when booking directly via our booking engine.

Our motorhomes are high quality and well maintained, but issues can still happen.

This amount is held as a security deposit to cover potential costs such as traffic fine, fuel shortages, rental extensions or any damages to the vehicle.

At the end of your rental, once the vehicle has been inspected and confirmed to be in the same condition (inside and out), the pre-authorised amount will be fully released or cancelled. The funds will typically become available in your account again within a few business days, depending on your bank.

Our customers are obligated to take good care of the motorhome and be cautious while driving. Taking good care of the vehicle ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for you – and for the next travelers as well. If you accidentally damage the motorhome, do not worry. We are here to help. Please follow these steps:

  1. Ensure everyone’s safety first.
  2. Notify us as soon as possible. You may give us a call at our 24/7 roadside assistance number.
  3. Document the damage. Take photos of the damage and, if applicable, gather any third-party information.
  4. Follow our instructions thoroughly. We will guide you through the next steps.
